Rampton Wharf (Access Road)
Rampton Wharf Road looking from the Wharf toward Torksey Ferry Road
Half An Acre of Land beside the River Trent, which was awarded to the Parish of Rampton in 1845 under the Inclosure Award. The land was used by the Parish Employee, the Surveyor of the Highways, Roads & Drains to moor his boat at the jetty, barges entering Rampton would pay a fee. After the Surveyor's Role was disbanded in the 1920's, the land was rented as grazing land for farm animals until the end of WW2. The land is currently let by the Parish Council to Ashfield Angling Club however, all residents of the Parish of Rampton & Woodbeck have the right to enter and walk on the wharf, its access road from Torksey Ferry Road to the Wharf is also Parish Council owned. In 2018 we received a grant for a Bench from the Canal & River Trust which the fishing club will install shortly.
